The gPhone is a robust and reliable communication device designed to integrate seamlessly with the fixed, wired communication system, FixCom. Unlike its portable counterpart, the mPhone, the gPhone is intended for stationary use, providing consistent and uninterrupted communication in underground mines and tunnels.
The gPhone is powered through the wired system using a 15V power supply, eliminating the need for an internal battery. This makes it ideal for installations where continuous power is available. It can also be mounted on vehicles and powered from a 12V vehicle battery, offering flexibility in deployment.
Equipped with a very loud built-in speaker, the gPhone is perfect for use in extremely loud environments. The device also supports dual communication modes, functioning both as a radiotelephone and as a radio transceiver, similar to a WireNode. This dual functionality allows it to transmit radio signals over both – antenna and cable, enhancing its versatility.
